REACH PROGRAM

ABOUT

Our REACH program operates 7 days a week and is a fun and safe space for members.  The REACH program promotes social inclusion, relationship building, independence and a non-judgemental supportive approach.  The REACH facility is designed to provide a safe place to be which feels like home.  People can work on building daily living skills, learn Trauma Informed and Harm Reduction based approaches and work towards individualized goals.

Our Staff provide support with health matters, court and legal issues, home skills, safety management, and connect people with other resources in our community.  The programs operates 363 days per year and includes a game & rec space, theater room, music area and snooze room.  REACH hosts a variety of events such as cultural engagements, art classes, Tastey Thursday and recreation and entertainment.

GOAL

Bring new Life to AIR

After consultations with a variety of AIR employees and stakeholders, a desire to remain current to individuals interests and wishes within their supports was identified.

AIR determined that a 2 year goal would be necessary.  Year One will focus on getting feedback from individuals and employees while also assessing current resources within AIR.  Year Two will focus on planning for changes and implementing new programming among the AIR programs.

AIR recognizes that in order to stay relevant in disability services, we will continually need to be looking for new and exciting opportunities.  AIR is committed to ensuring AIR is a place that individuals want to come, and employees enjoy the work they do.

SEASONAL

As the weather starts to cool, Reach continues to offer a warm place to be.  Speak with a team leader or management member if you want to ensure you have warmer clothing and outdoor gear with the changing weather. Ensure you have proper footwear with a good grip as the parking lot and sidewalks in the area can become slippery.  As the road conditions can change quickly in Southern Alberta, a reminder that going places in the city may take longer than usual so please be patient and safe.  Check out the AIR calendar and Instagram for all the fun things Reach will be offering this coming season!
